This jacket is a reinterpretation of the so-called "Vietnamese jackets" that American soldiers who served in the Vietnam War ordered as souvenirs in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Vietnam jackets are not officially issued by the U.S. military, but rather were made as personal items by local tailors. The embroidery on them is inscribed with memories of their affiliation, the place they lived in, and the emotions they felt at the time.
Rather than being worn on the battlefield, these jackets were worn during off-duty time on base, when going out, or upon returning home, and after their purpose was fulfilled, they were cherished as a symbol of rebellion.
Building on this trend, BOW WOW elevates their products by adding an expression of aging, as seen in well-worn souvenir jackets imbued with culture and emotion.
